The Weather – It is right about 12:30 here in Lake Arrowhead and I am looking out my office window. I see big beautiful white clouds drifting by in the bright blue sky that I know all too well here in my hometown. We were dusted with about 2 inches of fresh snow last night which has many of the full time residence on the mountain wondering if we will ever make it to spring this year.

It is absolutely beautiful today despite the snow rumors. Earlier this week received about a foot of snow fall and are expected to get another 10 inches this afternoon and overnight but I am not sure how much truth is there. I am only judging by the view out of my window:

The Lake Arrowhead Weather is wonderful today so come up to the mountains and ski, snow board or even shop around for Lake Arrowhead Real Estate.
We are expected to get well over a foot of snow in Lake Arrowhead this upcoming weekend. Make sure you have a 4WD vehicle or at least chains if you are going to be driving up the mountain.
The flood gates at Lake Arrowhead have been open and overflowing for over a week. The gates are located at Willow Creek – Tavern Bay Beach Club. The overflow had caused the road to be washed away at Willow Creek and Highway 173. It will be nice to enjoy Lake Arrowhead next summer with a full water level. Most of the Lake Arrowhead docks are actually under water as the lake is filling faster than we can let the water out.
Looks like we will have a full lake level for 2011. It has been raining here in Lake Arrowhead for the past four days and is expected to rain throughout the week and clear up on Christmas. Currently Lake Arrowhead is just two inches low and will probably be over flowing in the next couple of days! Two weeks ago we were almost three feet low, we have received a lot of rain in the past few days. Lake Arrowhead Real Estate especially lakefront properties depend on the annual rainfall to support a full lake.
Locals especially like to keep track of how much the lake raises after each storm we receive. Between rain, snow, and run off, a few good storms can fill up the lake very quickly. After the lake reaches maximum capacity the ALA (Arrowhead Lake Association) will open the flood gate located at the Tavern Bay Beach Club. Over-flow eventually ends up in the high desert.
The current lake level is 5106.52′ (0.2′ low) and the water temperature is 46.2°.
Lake Arrowhead Water Level and Dock Sales
Lake Arrowhead Dock Sales should remain steady as we are now sure to have a full lake for the upcoming season. The water level fluctuates on a daily basis. As the water we drink comes straight from the lake, lake levels can drop dramatically especially before our winter season. During a typical season the lake can drop approximately between three and six feet. If we are in a drought or the water level drops more than 10 feet Lake Arrowhead dock sales are effected and drop in price. Most of the shallower bays start to dry up and some docks are left to sit on dry land.
We received an inch of new snow last night and maybe three inches earlier in the week. The roads in LAke Arrowhead are mostly cleared other than access roads. Chain conditions do exist in and above Running Springs. All the local snow resorts have opened for the 2010 2011 winter season including Snow Valley. Snow Valle is only a 20 minute drive from Lake Arrowhead and often times does not have the crowds that Big Bear gets. It’s also 4o minutes less of a drive then Big Bear.
If your weekend plans include coming to Lake Arrowhead you’re in for some weather. A small storm is coming in Friday through Saturday for a 60% chance of rain and snow.You might consider bringing chains to the Lake Arrowhead mountain areas. We have temporarily moved our Lake Arrowhead Weather Camera from the McDonalds dock to our new office above Stater Brothers. The camera will be moved back to the lake within the next month to a much better location. We’re in process of running the cables to the new location now.
Lake Arrowhead Weather Camera
Last year our Lake Arrowhead Weather Camera captured great shots of the new snow that accumulated on the McDonalds dock. At times the docks were under water from the weight of the snow. The lake filled up early in the season as the flood gates couldn’t let the water out fast enough. The Lake Arrowhead Weather Camera also works well at night, so tune into our site if you’d like a weather update.
Today was a mostly nice day, the clouds didn’t quite make it over the rim. The temperature was about 48 degrees most of the day and the snow is retreating fast! In the last couple of years in Lake Arrowhead the month of March has yielded the most amount of snow! Nothing yet, but we will see. So far this season we have had a ton of snow, well above average.
